What we believe
Peter Swann, pastor
Peter, or Swanny as his friends know him, has a passion for seeing people know the depths of God’s love for them. Knowing Jesus as the ultimate expression of God’s love has shaped Peter’s life since he was 16 years old. He loves helping others know Jesus better and seeing their lives changed by this same love. Peter has over 20 years of experience working in Church ministry. His desire is that Church be a place where people of all ages can come and find a sense of belonging, be grown in their faith and be encouraged and equipped to be part of God’s amazing mission to those He has placed around us. Originally from NSW, Peter has a deep affection for the Sydney Swans. He also loves exploring Adelaide with his family in search of great food and coffee.
Isaiha Groeneveld, Youth pastor
Isaiha is passionate about evangelism and discipleship in next-gen ministry, longing for young people to encounter God personally and relationally. His own life was transformed when he came to faith and was baptised at 13, setting him on a lifelong path of ministry. He has since served in various church contexts within and beyond our Baptist Movement, including a season in outdoor education before stepping into pastoral ministry in 2021. Isaiha now pastors youth at Glen Osmond while studying a Bachelor of Ministry at Tabor.
With interests spanning sport, hospitality, and the arts, he loves using every aspect of his life as a way to connect with people. Nothing brings him more joy than deep chats over coffee or on a walk - it is here where he sees God at work in the lives of himself and others.
We've been here for over 140 years
For more than a century, Glen Osmond Baptist Church has been part of the local community, gathering in our historic Myrtle Bank building. What began in the 1880s as a small preaching station from Parkside Baptist, soon grew into a vibrant church with a heart for community and long-standing connections with Glen Osmond Primary School and the War Veterans Home.
Today, we believe we are stepping into a new season of growth and renewal. While our story includes many chapters, what excites us most is what God is doing right now—shaping us into a vibrant, welcoming church with a fresh sense of purpose. We’re committed to building a community where people can belong, grow, and flourish in Jesus, and we’re hopeful for all that lies ahead.
