Our History
Glen Osmond Baptist Church has met in the historic Myrtle Bank church for over 100 years …
In 1882, it started as a preaching station out of Parkside Baptist and by 1884 it was recognised as a church in its own right and a member church of the South Australian Baptist Union (now Baptist Churches SA). Over the years, it has had lean times and strong times. But at all times it was dedicated to being a strong Christian community in the surrounding suburbs, with links to Glen Osmond Primary School and the War Vets Home.
LifeChurch Unley started out as a ministry of Unley Park Baptist Church, planted in 2009 in the church building. In 2016, the church community realised that God was calling them out of Unley Park in order to be a greater blessing to the community around them, and to find a place of their own to call home and to welcome people in.
In August 2017, these two communities merged together to create a NEW Glen Osmond Baptist Church, believing that God was leading them together to be more fruitful and effective for His glory.
